Holy Cross Announces Summer Basketball Camps

(Notre Dame, IN) The Holy Cross Athletic Department is pleased to announce the first annual Holy Cross Basketball Youth Fundamentals Camp this summer.
Boys and Girls
Ages 8-14 years
Session I: June 25-29, 2012
Session II: July 9-13, 2012
9:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.
Enrollment Fee- $100 per session
Your child will have the opportunity to work with Holy Cross College men's basketball coach, Bob Schermerhorn and women's basketball coach, Aimee Litka, along with Holy Cross basketball players, during a week long camp taking kids through the basics of basketball.
Your child will receive instructions on shooting, ball handling, passing, defensive technique, and much more! Through contests and relay races, each child will experience a week of competition, combined with fun!
Bob Schermerhorn Holy Cross College Men's Head Basketball Coach- Coach "Horn" has been a winner at every level, coaching basketball from high school to Division I, including a term as head coach at Arizona State University. During his tenure, the Sun Devils upset both UCLA and Oregon. Returning to Southern California, Schermerhorn coached Riverside Community College to nine consecutive playoff appearances. He was selected State Coach of the Year in 1996 and Orange Empire Coach of the Year in 1994 and 1996. He has since coached at Fullerton College and Santa Ana College where he was also Associate Dean of Exercise Science. In 2003, Coach "Horn" was enshrined in the California Community Basketball Hall of Fame.
Aimee Litka Women's Head Basketball Coach- Coach Litka, a former St. Joseph's High School standout, led the Indians to a state championship and was selected First Team All Northern Indiana Conference and was an Indiana All-Star. Before starting her collegiate career at Valparaiso University she set the St. Joseph's all-time scoring mark with 1,698 points and career record for steals.
