(Cedar Rapids, Iowa) The Holy Cross Saints women's soccer team traveled to Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Monday to take on the Mustangs of Mount Mercy University in a non-conference match. Holy Cross fell to the Mustangs 5-0 after senior forward Kandice Kiernan netted a pair of goals and assists. The loss drops the Saints to (0-3-0) on the season.

The Saints opened up the first half of play only trailing the Mustangs by a score of 1-0. Junior goalkeeper, Aileen Clouse (Beavercreek, Ohio) finished the first half with 4 saves. Holy Cross was outshot in the half by a total of 10-2.

As the second half went on, the Mustangs took control of the game and turned their 1-0 halftime lead into a 5-0 victory. They outshot the Saints by a total of 21-7.

Holy Cross finished the game with 7 shots, only 1 of which was on net. Goalkeeper, Aileen Clouse, finished the game with 7 saves. Kianna Smith (San Diego Calif.) and Cristina Guevara (Panama City, Panama) led the Saints in shots with 2 each.

The Saints (0-3-0) will return home for a match with Aquinas College on Monday, September 17th at 4:00pm EST.
