(Notre Dame, Ind.) The Holy Cross Saints women's soccer team fell to Aquinas College 10-0 Monday evening. Junior goalkeeper Aileen Clouse (Beavercreek, Ohio) finished the game with a season high 21 saves. The loss drops the Saints to 0-4 on the season.
Aquinas picked up where they left off on August 31st versus the Saints with a quick goal from Timera Crosby. Crosby followed her goal with another to make it 2-0.
The goals by Crosby proved to be too much for the Saints, as Aquinas was able to control the offense for the entire game. The Saints were outshot 22-3 in the first half, and 46-7 over the course of the game.
Junior goalkeeper Aileen Clouse (Beavercreek, Ohio) faced plenty of action throughout the game. Facing a total of 46 shots (31 on net), she recorded a season high 21 saves. However, Holy Cross just wasn't able to get enough opportunities.
Freshmen Stacy Rubio (Northlake, Ill.) led the team with 2 shots on goal.
The Saints (0-4) will travel to Berrien Springs, Michigan on Thursday to take on the Andrews University Cardinals for their last non-conference game before conference play begins on Saturday, September 22nd at Illinois Tech.
