(Notre Dame, Ind.) The Holy Cross Saints women's soccer team concluded Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play Saturday afternoon with a 6-0 loss to the 19th ranked Eagles of Judson University.
Judson was able to come out to a quick start against the Saints Saturday afternoon and scored 3 goals from Angela Bianchi in the first 10 minutes of the game.
Trailing 3-0 early, the Saints then were able to get under control and move the ball on offense.
"I felt that after the first 10 minutes we really played much better," said Saints head coach Carlos Reynolds. "Although we got down early, the girls really played hard and had a lot of positive moments out there."
The Saints were outshot 19-2 after the 1st half and trailed the Eagles 4-0.
Judson was able to score 2 more goals over the course of the 2nd half and cruise to a 6-0 lead over the Saints, dropping their season record to 1-14-1 (0-10-1 CCAC).
"Overall, I was very impressed with the girl's resilience throughout the game," stated coach Reynolds. "They played hard for 90 minutes and never quit. We will take the positives from today and look to send our seniors out with a win on Monday against Andrews."
The Saints will close out the 2012 season on Monday, October 29th with a 4:00pm EST match against Andrews University. Following the match, the Saints will honor their 3 seniors: Lindsey Swaim (Elkhart, Ind.), Jessica Pletcher (Plymouth, Ind.), and Angie Friese (Honolulu, Hawaii).
