Kevin Gray was nearly perfect in Chicago on Saturday, March 28, allowing only one base runner in a rain and sleet shortened game against the Roosevelt University Lakers at Alexian Field in Schaumburg.

The game was called after 4 full innings but not until the Saints had built an 11-0 lead behind 3 for 3 hitting by Michael McMahon, who also scored 3 runs, drove in 3, and stole 3 bases. Tim Mouton and Ben Ulm each scored twice and Chris Lushis singled, doubled, and drove in 2 runs.

Despite all of the offense, the real story was Gray, who was dominant on the mound mixing his fast ball, change-up, and curve in a manner that just baffled the Lakers' batters. Gray threw just 48 pitches against the 13 batters he faced striking out 5. In addition, he recorded one putout on a soft pop-up and three assists on ground balls hit back to the pitcher.

Gray directly accounted for 9 of the 12 Lakers outs.  The Saints have played well in several games this season, but took a 0-7 record into Saturday's game. The Saints next play Grace College in Winona Lake at 3:00pm on Monday, March 30.
