Despite all of the offense, the real story was Gray, who was dominant on the mound mixing his fast ball, change-up, and curve in a manner that just baffled the Lakers' batters. Gray threw just 48 pitches against the 13 batters he faced striking out 5. In addition, he recorded one putout on a soft pop-up and three assists on ground balls hit back to the pitcher.
Gray directly accounted for 9 of the 12 Lakers outs. The Saints have played well in several games this season, but took a 0-7 record into Saturday's game. The Saints next play Grace College in Winona Lake at 3:00pm on Monday, March 30.
