Holy Cross (9-6, 5-5 CCAC)
Game #16: Thursday, January 3, 8:30 p.m. EST
at Trinity International (7-6, 5-4 CCAC)
DeVos Gymnasium– Deerfield, Ill.
Next up in Saints Basketball: The Saints will enjoy some time off with the end of semester break before returning to the hardwood against Trinity International University for the first time this season. The game for both teams will be the first played in over two weeks.
Last time out: Holy Cross saw their season high four-game winning streak end against the University of St. Francis on December 18th in a 74-67 home loss. With a 12-point lead in the second half, the Saints saw St. Francis answer with an 8-to-0 run to cut the lead to just four. A three-pointer from St. Francis with 29 seconds left put the Saints behind for the final time in the game. After missing the game-tying three-pointer, St. Francis was able to knock down their free-throws which put the Saints in the loss column for the first time since December 1st. The victory for St. Francis was the fifth consecutive time they have defeated the Saints (Holy Cross has never beaten St. Francis).
Head Coach Bob Schermerhorn: In his 3rd season, Coach Schermerhorn is all-time winningest coach in Saints basketball history. Currently, the Saints are off to their best start in program history at 9-6.

Outrebounded their opponents in three of the five games…
Had an assist-to-turnover ratio over 1 in the four wins…
Attempted at least 17 free-throws in each game…
Averaged over 81 points per game..
Scouting the Trojans: Currently sitting in fifth place, and a half game ahead of the Saints, the Trojans are coming off an extended layoff where they last place Saint Xavier on December 17th. Four players average at least 8 points-per-game with Dillon Wadsack leading the way at 13.9 per game.
