(Notre Dame, Ind.) The Holy Cross hockey team announced that Mike Pilcher (St. Louis, Mo.) will join the program for the remainder of 2012-2013 season today.

A 2009 graduate of De Smet Jesuit High School in St. Louis, Mo., Pilcher spent last season playing for the St. Louis Jr. Blues in the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) where he recorded 1 goal and 2 assists in 19 games.

"We're thrilled to have Michael join us for the remainder of the 2012-2013 season," said Saints head coach Bill Schmatz. "Mike is a solid forward with breakaway speed, good hands, and the ability to find the back of the net. He will be a welcomed addition to our already talented cast of forwards. We expect Mike to bring a very high tempo style of play that will put the opposition on their heels.

Pilcher, the son of Jerry and Judy Pilcher, plans to study Communications while at Holy Cross.

The Saints will be back in action at home this weekend as they take on Indiana University on Friday and Saturday. The puck is set to drop at 9:15 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
