(Notre Dame, Ind.) The Holy Cross Saints baseball program is pleased to announce the signings of Paul Geha (Fort Wayne, Ind. /Bishop Dwenger) and Matthew Schwitz (Granger, Ind. /Kankakee CC) for the 2013-2014 season.

Paul Geha, out of Bishop Dwenger high school, will join the Saints rotation in the fall of 2013. During the 2012 season Geha pitched 35 innings while compiling a 1-5 record and an ERA of 3.80. Most notably, Geha notched 5 complete games on the season.

In the summer time, Geha plays for the Fort Wayne Cubs.

Standing at 6-3, head coach Brian Blondell is excited to get Geha on campus next fall.

"We're extremely excited to have Paul join the Saints in 2013-2014," said coach Blondell. "Paul is an up and coming pitcher who continues to get better each season. He's not afraid to put in the hours off the field to sharpen his mental game, pitching mechanics and arm strength. We are excited to get to work with him and see his development over the next four years."

Paul is a two-year letter winner at Bishop Dwenger and has been voted Team Captain for the Saints this upcoming season.

Off the field, Paul is the sportscaster on announcements and is involved in Video Club, Spirit Club as well as finding time to volunteer at Townehouse Nursing Home.

At Holy Cross, Geha plans to study business.

Matthew Schwitz has also signed his letter of intent to join the Saints during the 2013-2014 season.

Originally from nearby Granger, Indiana, Schwitz is entering his second season as a pitcher for the Kankakee Cavaliers.

During his freshman season with the Cavaliers, Schwitz appeared and started in 14 games compiling a record of 7-4 and an ERA of 3.53. He totaled 89.1 innings pitched while compiling 36 strikeouts.

As is listed on his profile page at Kankakee, "Matt is a very talented sophomore pitcher who will anchor the pitching staff during the 2013 season. His ability to command all four of his pitches in any count is the key to his success. He will pitch in big games for the Cavs during the 2013 season."

The ability to lead an impressive program has coach Brian Blondell excited about the addition of Matt to the Saints rotation next season.

"Matt comes to us from a great program in Kankakee Community College under head coach Todd Post," said coach Blondell. "He was at the top of the rotation for a 35 win team last season and will do so again this year. We're excited to have Matt not only join but lead our staff."

On behalf of Holy Cross Athletics, we'd like to welcome and congratulate both Paul and Matthew for signing with the Saints for next season!
