(Notre Dame, Ind.) The Holy Cross Saints men's golf program is pleased to announce the signing of Ted Rider (Vicksburg, Mich.) for the 2013-2014 season.

"We're really pleased to have Ted join our program next season," said Saints head coach Tim Holt. "He's not only a great player, but a solid kid, and he will fit in very well with the players we have returning next season."

Rider joins the Saints program from Vicksburg, Michigan with an impressive high school resume: This past season, his junior season, he took home the Division 4 Individual Michigan Golf State Championship for Hackett Catholic Central.

Aside from the individual state championship honor, Rider has been an integral part of the success at Hackett Catholic Central every year he's been with the program. He has made the All-Conference team during all three seasons to date in the Kalamazoo Valley Association; was named All-State Honorable Mention as a freshman, and made the All-State team during both his sophomore and junior seasons. This season, he was named a team captain for the third straight season.

Rider has also had success at Hackett Catholic Central as a member of the basketball team where he has been a three year starter, and two time captain. He also played varsity soccer during his junior year.

Outside of the field of competition, Rider is a member of the National Honors Society, Spanish Club and Student Athletic Advisory Board (SAAB).

The son of Steve and Kelli Rider, Ted is undecided on what he plans to major in at the moment.

"I'm really excited for our program to have someone of Ted's ability and character join next season," continued Holt. "There's no doubt in my mind that Ted will help us continue our goals of winning the conference championship and advance back to the National Tournament."
