(Notre Dame, Ind.) The Holy Cross department of athletics is pleased to announce that after a brief two year absence men's and women's cross country will return as club sport beginning in the fall of 2013.

"As Holy Cross continues to grow the student population, we too are looking to for opportunities to enrich student life," said Holy Cross Director of Athletics Aimee Niespodziany. "We feel that by adding a cross country club for the fall of 2013, with the desire to make it a varsity level sport in the fall of 2014, we will give another group of students the opportunity to be collegiate student athletes."

Men's and women's cross country was first introduced as a club sport at Holy Cross College in the fall of 2007 and remained a club sport until the fall of 2009. Both teams competed in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) during the falls of 2009 and 2010 before the latest two year absence.

The addition of men's and women's cross country now brings the total number of sports offered at Holy Cross College to eleven.

Join us in welcoming back men's and women's cross country! We look forward to continuing the growth of the Holy Cross College department of athletics!
