(Notre Dame, Ind.) Head coach Aimee Niespodziany and the Holy Cross women's basketball team have continued their recruiting efforts this off-season to bring in Shana Anderson from Bourbon, Ind. as their second commitment for next season. Anderson joins Shelby Nelson as the second recruit to sign with the Saints for the 2013-2014 season.

A four-year varsity player for the Triton Trojans, Shana most recently wrapped up her senior season where she helped guide the Trojans to a 17-6 overall record, a perfect 7-0 conference record in the Northern State Conference and a Class 1-A sectional runner-up.

Totaling 852 career points for the Trojans, Shana saw her scoring and rebounding production increase each season, with her best statistical season coming her senior year. As a senior, Shana appeared in eighteen games for the Trojans while making seventeen starts, and finished with a career high in scoring, at 13.9 points-per-game, while grabbing 5.7 rebounds-per-game. In addition, Shana made 43.4% of her shots from the field and 35.8% from 3-point range.

"We're really excited to have Shana join our program next season, and for the years to come," coach Niespodziany said. "The length she provides at the guard spot will be a great addition to our returning team. She has the ability to attack the basket, knock down shots and is also great at moving without the ball. We believe that with her work ethic, she will be great addition to our success for the years to come."

In addition to basketball, Shana participated in volleyball and track at Triton where she was named to all-conference teams.

Aside from athletics, Shana also stayed involved in school as the Class Officer as well as being a member of a number of groups: TLA, FCCLA, Science Club, Spanish Club and Spirit Club.

Her biggest athletic thrill to date was winning sectionals.

The daughter of Greg and Sheila Anderson, Shana is undecided on her college major at this point in time.

Congratulations to Shana for deciding to continue her athletic career with Holy Cross!
