After struggling with depth at the goalkeeper position in 2012, the addition of Brian gives the Saints their third goalkeeper for the 2013 fall season.
"The addition of Brian will add to a very deep class of goalkeepers," stated coach Gallo. "I truly believe your team will go as far as your goalie takes you. When you are able to bring in three quality players and leaders like we have, it helps solidify your team. Brian is an individual who will make our team better both on and off the field. His determination to succeed will help guide our players in the classroom as well."
A 2013 graduate of Hackett Catholic Central, Brian was a recipient of an academic letter of achievement during all four years of his prep career and a member of the National Honors Society. At Hackett Catholic, Aldrich achieved all-conference, all-district, all-region and all-state recognition each of his four seasons. A 2013 finalist for the MHSAA Scholar Athlete scholarship award, Aldrich was al also selected to the Kalamazoo Gazette/MLive 2012-13 soccer dream team.
"Brian's accolades speak for themselves," continued Gallo. "He has demonstrated that he wants to be great on and off the field with his athletic and academic honors as a prep standout. We are lucky to add such an addition to our program."
Hackett Catholic Central varsity soccer coach Chris Adrian on Brian
"Brian exhibits leadership qualities far above other students around him. He is tireless in his ability to overcome obstacles and succeed in athletic and scholarly settings on a consistent basis. Brian is one of the hardest workers I have coached, not jus ton the playing field, when all eyes are upon him, but more importantly, every day in practice when it's each to slack off and not be noticed."
The son of Kimberly and Ronald Aldrich, Brian plans to study business and marketing at Holy Cross.
The Saints open up the 2013 fall season at home against Lindenwood University on September 1st.
