(Notre Dame, Ind.) Head coach Aimee Niespodziany and the Holy Cross women's basketball program is pleased to announce the signing of Anna Heck for the 2013-14 season.
"Anna is a solid two-way player with a lot of ability to help us this season," stated Niespodziany. "She's a very hard worker who will fit right in with the rest of our team. We couldn't be more excited to have Anna join our program."
A 2013 graduate of Concord High School, Heck joins the Saints after her most successful season for the Minutemen where she was a full-time starter and averaged a team-high 8.9 points-per-game.
"Holy Cross is getting a very talented player," said Concord women's basketball coach Dan Ross. "Anna was a tireless worker for us this year and has only improved in her time at Concord.
"She can really shoot the ball," continued Ross. "We were forced to play her out of position due to size this year, but I think in this system, she's going to be a great shooter for the Saints. Her tireless work ethic and determined attitude is really going to help her at the next level. She's a great competitor and was a real joy to coach this past season. I'm extremely proud and happy for Anna to join the Saints program."
Heck lettered in basketball all four years at Concord, was a two-time captain in her junior and senior years and closed out her career with 423 career points. At the conclusion of her senior year, Heck was named All-Conference Honorable Mention.
In addition to basketball letters, Heck has two varsity letters in softball.
Aside from athletics, Anna has participated in Potter's Marathon to raise money for Riley's Kids.
Anna is the daughter of Mark and Ann Heck and is currently undecided on her college major.
