(Notre Dame, IN) Anne Hamilton (Vermilion, OH) will continue her academic and athletic career at Holy Cross College. Hamilton signed a letter of intent to play basketball for the Saints.

A four year varsity letter winner at Vermilion High School, Hamilton averaged 14 points and 6.4 rebounds per game in her senior season. In three consecutive years, Hamilton was named all conference, county, and district. As captain of the basketball team she was named team MVP and Best Offensive Player in her junior and senior years.

The Lorain County (Ohio) All - Star was also awarded as a WEOL Student Athlete, and a Greater Cleveland All - Star. "Anne is a perfect fit for Holy Cross. She has worked really hard to prepare herself for college - not only on the basketball court, but more importantly in the classroom," said Head Coach Matt Hunsberger.

"She'll be what I like to call a hybrid center/forward for us who can shoot the 3-point shot and dominate in the post as well. We'll be able to play Anne at any position because of her perimeter game and ball handling skills."

Anne attributed her decision to come to Holy Cross because of the welcoming atmosphere on campus. "Everyone was welcoming and made me feel comfortable," said Hamilton. "I am excited to be a part of the first women's basketball team. Many of the girls will be freshmen, and we have the opportunity to grow over the next four years."
The Saints will usher in their inaugural season October 28th, against Grace College in the McKenna Arena.
