          (Notre Dame, IN) Nicholaos Fotopoulos of Elkhart Central will continue his academic and athletic career with Holy Cross College. In his sophomore year, he was part of the 2006 semi-state championship team.

   

          Fotopoulos was a two year starter for the Blue Blazers, and helped them to a regional championship in 2007. Recording 12 assists as a defender, he was named to the second team All - Northern Indiana Conference and received a best defender award with Central.

         "Niko is a great new asset for us, and is coming up through a very successful high school program at Elkhart Central," said Head Coach Dustan Harley. "He will fit in well with the team as an outside defensive back and should make some significant contributions to the 2009 squad.  I look forward to coaching Niko over the next four years and watching him grow as a player and a young man."
  
           Fotopoulos is the third player to sign with Coach Harley and the Saints this year. He is undecided on a major, but is excited to play at the next level.
