Coach McBride will join the Saints after completing his fifth season as the Associate Head Men's Basketball Coach at Tusculum College in Greenville, Tennessee where he was deeply involved in all phases of the program. From daily practice planning and coaching to game preparation in decision-making, McBride played a key role in the program's daily operation. During his time at Tusculum, the team earned a national ranking, competed in the top of the South Atlantic Conference, and earned the school's first ever at-large berth in the NCAA Division II National Tournament.
Prior to coaching at Tusculum, McBride served as the Associate Head Coach at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, Indiana from 2004-2007. While at IUS, McBride was involved in all phases of the program with an added emphasis in implementing the offensive system and developing post players. Additionally, McBride was extensively involved in practice planning, as well as game preparation and coaching. During his three years at Indiana University Southeast, the program experienced the most successful three-year span in the history of IUS basketball. Over this period, they accumulated a record of 79-22, including two regular season and tournament titles in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. That success led to multiple appearances in the NAIA Division II National Tournament. During his three seasons at IUS, McBride mentored eight All-Conference selections.
As a collegiate coach, Coach McBride has served as the recruiting coordinator at both Indiana University Southeast and Tusculum College.
In addition to coaching at the collegiate level, Coach McBride served as the Head Varsity Basketball Coach at Tipton High School in Indiana for four seasons where he took on the task of rebuilding the basketball program. During the 2001 season, he guided the Blue Devils to the Class 2A Taylor Sectional Championship; their first title in over a decade.
His first stint as a collegiate coach came at Eastern Kentucky University during the 1999-2000 season, preceded by three years as head boys' varsity coach at Eminence (Ind.) High School. From 1997-1999, he also served the dual role as basketball coach and athletic director.
The Jeffersonville, Indiana native played his collegiate career at Marian University where he was an All-Conference standout (1995-1996) and was twice named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court (1994-1996). A 1996 graduate of Marian University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English, McBride lettered three seasons with the Knights and served as team captain during his senior season.
Coach McBride has also worked a number of basketball camps and clinics, serving as director of IUS Basketball Camp, Tipton Summer League, Tipton High School Basketball Camp and the Tipton Fall Development Camp. He has also worked with the Bloomington Red AAU Program, Five Star Basketball Camp and the Indiana University Basketball Camp.
McBride holds memberships in the National Association of Basketball Coaches, Indiana Basketball Coaches Associations, Tennessee Basketball Coaches Association and the Ohio Basketball Coaches Association.
Prior to Holy Cross, Pearison served under Randy DeShone at Jimtown as an assistant for two years. During those two years they won a State Championship in 2004. Pearison also coached at Indiana University South Bend (IUSB) for 6 years as an Associate Head Coach where he served under Micah Schrewsberry and Denny Parks.
In addition, he directed and helped run several basketball camps in the area including Jimtown, IUSB, and Eastlake Athletic Club.
Brian also serves as the head coach for men's and women's cross country at Holy Cross and is the new Assistant Manager in the Pfeil Center.
He currently resides in Elkhart, Ind. with his wife Renee and children Austin (12) and Audrey (11).
Coach Ellis enters his first season on the Saints staff after most recently serving as the boys varsity coach at Edgewood JR/SR High School in Merritt Island, Florida for two seasons.
At Edgewood, Ellis led the Indians to a 10-11 record during the 2012-2013 season and their first ever play-off victory over Cocoa Beach.
Prior to Edgewood, Ellis was a member on the coaching staff at Tusculum College where he assisted the Pioneers for four seasons.
While with the Pioneers, he assisted with all team operations, including practice and game preparation, strength and conditioning and video coordination. During practice, he assisted with coaching the Tusculum post players and was also responsible for the team’s student assistants and managers.
During the 2008-09 season, Tusculum posted a 20-11 record and earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament. That team also claimed runner-up honors for in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament. That team followed with a 16-12 worksheet, while last year’s club advanced to the semifinal round of the SAC Tournament.
The Merritt Island High School graduate was a three-year letterman for the Mustangs where he was coached by former Tusculum assistant coach Coleman Flaskamp. His senior squad posted a 20-win season, while advancing to the State Tournament for the first time in 10 years. Merritt Island finished runner-up for the District Championship as Ellis earned the 2006 Mustang Award and served as team captain. During his final prep campaign, he also earned Area Player of the Week honors.
Ellis graduated from Tusculum in May of 2011 and majored in Math Education. He currently resides in South Bend, Ind. with his wife, Krystle.
Coach Hafley enters his first season as a member of the men's basketball coaching staff.
Prior to joining the Saints staff, coach Hafley has served as the co-founder and director of operations of Shoreline Regional Basketball. He also served as the head coach of the 2012 17U team.
After playing at Lake Michigan College, Hafley began his coaching career as a student assistant coach at Henderson State University (NCAA Division II). During those two seasons (2001-2003), HSU posted a record of 52-10 while advancing to the NCAA tournament each year.
After graduating from Henderson State in 2003, Hafley served as the head freshman boys basketball coach at Lakeshore High School for 1 season and the varsity assistant coach for 2 seasons under Sean Schroeder. The Lancers posted no less than 14 wins in each of those years. The 2006-2007 squad was a perfect 20-0 in the regular season and advanced to the Class B state semi-finals.
From 2007-2009, Hafley served as the head JV and varsity assistant at New Buffalo High School under Darrin Fatter. During those two seasons, the Bison varsity squad finished with a 36-10 mark while winning two Red Arrow Conference Championships and a Class C district title in 2009. It was the first district championship for New Buffalo since 1997, a team on which Hafley was a player on.
During the 2009-2010 season, Hafley served as the head boys varsity coach at Lawrence High School. The Tigers finished with a mark of 16-5 while capturing the SAC South Division title in Hafley's first season as a varsity head coach. The Tigers were also successful in the classroom as they earned BCAM academic all-state recognition while posting a 3.17 team GPA.
In the 2010-2011 season, Hafley served as a volunteer assistant coach at Indiana University-South Bend (NAIA). The Titans under the direction of first year coach Chad Tapp increased their previous season win total from 7 to 11.
In 2011-2012 Hafley returned to Lakeshore as a varsity assistant coach on a team that had 9 varsity players that have been in the Shoreline program. The Lancers had a historic season capturing a share of the Big 16 West Division, a Class B District championship, regional championship, and advancing to the Class B state championship game before falling to Lansing Sexton.
Coach Hafley also serves as an Intervention Facilitator at Buchanan High School. He's currently working on his Masters in Educational Leadership at Indiana University-South Bend.
