Head Coach - 3rd Season
Blondell has strong roots in the baseball community, coming to Holy Cross from Elkhart Memorial High School, where he was lead assistant coach, charged with the development of the team's pitching staff.  Brian is also director of the north-central area's College Prospects of America, where he works to prepare high school student-athletes for collegiate level academics and athletics. Brian currently serves as Director of Player Operations for the Michiana Scrappers Travel Baseball Program.  

Blondell began his coaching career at South Bend Washington High School where he was lead assistant for four years.  He was then named pitching coach at Bethel College where he groomed two All-American pitchers, one of whom currently plays in the major leagues.  In 2005, Brian took the head coaching position at South Bend Riley High School where he led the Wildcats until 2007.  From 2007 to 2011, Coach Blondell served as lead assistant of St. Joseph's High School's baseball program.  

 

Blondell graduated from Bethel College in 1998 with a degree in business administration and marketing.  As a pitcher for the Bethel Pilots, Blondell was a three-year letter-winner and an NCCAA All-American.  

His extensive experience in baseball also includes working at the University of Notre Dame's baseball camps, serving as the site director for the Midwest Baseball Winter Camps, coaching the Crossroads Classic for top juniors in the State of Indiana, serving as committee director for the selection of the IHSBCA 2007 North All-Stars, and directing the 2008 North South All-Star Series held at the University of Notre Dame.  Brian is also an active member of the IHSBCA and ABCA.

Brian is married to the former Christi Whitfield, a standout volleyball player at Mishawaka High School and Bethel College, where she was competed on the 1998 NCCAA National Championship team.  Brian and Christi have three children: Alexis (10), Bryce (9), and Brenden (5).

Assistant Coach - 1st Season
Mike Huling joins the Holy Cross baseball coaching staff in the 2014-15 season for his first year at the school. He will be responsible for coaching the hitting and baserunning for the Saints. 
 
Huling comes to Holy Cross from Bowling Green State University in the Mid-American Conference where he served as a baseball assistant coach for two years. At BGSU, Huling mentored four All-MAC selections and been part of the 2013 Mid-American Conference Tournament champion and NCAA Regional team. 
 
Serving as the primary hitting coach for the majority of the 2014 season, the Falcon offense saw a transformation during the second half of the 2014 season, under the tutelage of Huling. The Falcons raised their season batting average from .266 to .286 under Huling, while increasing offensive productivity, as well.
 
Most impressive was Bowling Green’s knack for stealing bases during the second half of the season. The Falcons, after stealing just 20 bases through the first 22 games of the season, stole 56 bases over the final 30 games (19-11 record).
 
Prior to his time at Bowling Green, Huling coached for one season at Mishawaka High School as the varsity assistant coach. He also coached the 16U Michiana Scrappers for two seasons.
 
Huling graduated in 2011 from the University of Southern Indiana, where he played for two seasons. His 2010 team at USI won the NCAA Division II National Championship. In his two seasons, Huling batted .342. In 2010, the year USI claimed the National Championship, Huling led the team with a .387 batting average with 49 RBI. Prior to his time at USI, Huling also played at Glen Oaks Community College, where he batted .374.

Head Assistant Coach - 3rd Season

Coach Todd Marazita is heading into his first season as the Head Assistant Coach for the Holy Cross baseball program.  Coach Marazita’s duties will include being the Saints hitting and infield coach while also assisting in the programs recruiting efforts.

Coach Marazita joins the Saints program with an extensive baseball background.  As founder of the Michiana Clippers travel baseball program, the Clippers have amassed a four year record of 294-57-2 in six seasons, including a national ranking of #21 in the country by Perfect Game.

Coach Marazita also served as Volunteer Assistant Coach at the University of Notre Dame, Varsity Coach at Buchanan High School, and a grad assistant at the College of the Ozarks. He has been actively involved in coaching many college camps such as Notre Dame, Michigan, Penn State, Tulane and Georgia Tech.

Coach Marazita played baseball at the College of the Ozarks, an NAIA school in Branson, MO. In addition to being Co-Captain his senior year, he also received All Academic Team honors.  Coach Marazita, his wife Amy, sons Maris, Rocky, Mason, and Dominic, and daughter Isabella, reside in Niles, MI and are parishioners at St. Pius Catholic Church.

 
Caleb Fenimore
Assistant Coach - 1st Season

Caleb Fenimore joins the Saints baseball coaching staff for his first season at Holy Cross. He will serve as the catching/bench coach for the Saints. 

Fenimore is a recent graduate of IPFW.

 
Pat Sweeney
Assistant Coach - 1st Season

Pat Sweeney joins the Holy Cross baseball staff for his first year on the Saints coaching staff. Sweeney will primarily work with the outfield.

Sweeney is also a Holy Cross College alumni graduating in the Spring of 2014.

 
Pat Borlik
Pitching Coach - 1st Season

Pat Borlik is a new addition to the Saints coaching staff in his first year he will serve as the pitching coach for the Saints.

Borlik comes to Holy Cross from Western Michigan University.
