Coach Pete Holland began playing soccer at the age of 11 in San Diego, California, and played competitively in recreational, travel, high school, college and adult club teams, both outdoor and indoor. While in the Marine Corps, he was ordered to volunteer to coach the base's club soccer team and has been coaching ever since. "Starting a women's program takes a lot of persistence, diligence, and patience" says Athletic Director Nathan Walker. "Coach Holland has the program ready to take the next step"
Prior to coaching the HCC women's varsity team, Coach Holland coached both recreational and travel level teams, as well as the men's and women's indoor teams at Holy Cross College. Holland received a B.S. in Naval Science at the United States Naval Academy. He then went on to earn an MBA at Indiana University.
Coach Holland is married to Tina and together they have three daughters in college and one son in high school. He is a small business owner and, in his spare time, is a United States Soccer Federation certified referee.
