2014: Saw action in 55 games as a junior, making 54 starts ... hit .314 on the year with 59 hits ... had a team-best nine doubles, on triple and two home runs ... led the team with 27 RBIs ... went 4-for-4 with two RBIs and a home run against Union (Ky.) (Feb. 22) ... went 3-for-4 with a double against Mount Vernon Nazarene (Mar. 14) ... went 4-for-4 with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored against Calumet St. Joseph (Apr. 12) ... drove in a season-high three RBIs twice, including in the CCAC Championship game against Judson (May 7) ... had 17 appearances on the mound, including 11 starts ... picked up his first career win after throwing seven scoreless innings against Cardinal Stritch (Apr. 1) while striking out seven ... struck out a season-high nine batters after tossing seven scoreless innings against Saint Xavier (Apr. 16) ... finished the year 5-6 with an ERA of 3.16 and a team-best 52 strikeouts in 77.0 innings ... also had three saves.

Prior to HC: Spent two seasons at Kankakee Community College where he worked in the infield and on the mound ... in his freshman season, Lanning hit .391 with 16 doubles and 35 RBIs while going 7-0 on the mound with an ERA of 3.90 ... as a sophomore, Lanning hit .356 with nine doubles, two triples, a home run and 26 RBIs while going 5-1 on the mound with three complete games.

Prep: A 2011 graduate of Hononegah High School where he was named all-conference twice, all-area and team MVP.
