Tom Sutula has started and built successful baseball programs in other venues. He guided a first-year team from a 1-15 record to an 11-5 record three years later. Two years after that, the team won the first of two successive league chanpionships.
While his coaching career started in high school, it was interrupted by many years of higher education that led to a bachelor's degree from Harvard, a law degree from Notre Dame, and a medical degree from Indiana University. Dr. Sutula has been affililated with the Memorial Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program since 1993 and currently is Senior Associate Director. He holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine and has served as Event Physician for two NCAA Division I baseball regional tournaments at Notre Dame.
He has coached multiple Little League, middle school, elite high school, and travel teams over the past 10 years, including many players who have gone on to successful college careers. He is a partner in an indoor baseball training facility called 'Chasing a Dream' where high school, college, and minor league baseball players train in the off-season. He looks forward to the challenge of building a winning baseball tradition at Holy Cross College.
