Saints Use Late Run to Secure Road Win
Milwaukee, Wis. The Holy Cross College men's basketball team returned to Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play this evening when hosted Trinity Christian College. After a slow start by the Saints, they trailed 39-26 at halftime. Holy Cross would battle back in the second half and cut the Wolves lead to 61-59 with just over three minutes left to play. A pair of Beau Ludwick free throws with 49 seconds to go put the Saints within one, 64-63. The ensuing possession resulted in a key stop for the Saints as they would regain possession, down one, with 27 seconds remaining. Ryan Black banked in a layup with 15 seconds left to put Holy Cross up one. Justin O'Neal came up with a steal late and converted on the free throw line to give the Saint the 66-64 victory. With the win, men's basketball improves to 9-10 overall and 4-7 in conference play, while Stritch stands at to 4-13 and 2-9.
