Robles II's Late Three Pushes Saints Past SAU
Notre Dame, Ind. The Holy Cross College men's basketball returned to conference play this evening when they hosted St. Ambrose University. The Saints jumped out to an early 28-14 lead ten minutes into the game. The Fighting Bees would battle back, as the Saints would go into halftime up 50-39. Holy Cross would extend their lead early in the second half, but St. Ambrose battled back late and would tie the game up with just over a minute remaining. The Saints got a big defensive stop and took possession, tied 91-91, with 30 seconds remaining. Phil Robles II would knock down a deep 3, with three seconds remaining, to give the Saints a 94-91 lead. The would prove to be the game winning field goal, as SAU was unable to get off a shot attempt late and the Saints would go on to win 94-91. With the win, Holy Cross moves to 8-12 and 3-9, while SAU stands at 11-9 and 8-4.
