Three Saints Selected to All Conference Teams
Chicago, Ill. - Saturday afternoon the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced the all-conference award winners for the 2015 Men's Soccer season. Lukman Ahmed-Shaibu, Jonghyun Son, and Brian Aldrich were all honored on Saturday.
For the second year in a row, Ahmed-Shaibu was selected to the First Team. Ahmed-Shaibu scored a league-leading 15 goals on the season, including 36 total points. He took 60 total shots, 37 were on goal. Ahmed-Shaibu also recorded 6 assists in the Saints successful season. Lukman recorded four goals against Andrews University on 9/9 and also recorded two goals against Lawrence Tech (8/29) and Trinity Christian (10/3). Ahmed-Shaibu finished his career with 23 goals, 7 assists, and 53 points.
Jonghyun Son was selected First Team All-CCAC. Son was the leader of the Saints defense, which recorded nine shutouts on the year. Son recorded his only goal of the season Andrews University on 9/9. Son recorded assists against Trinity Christian (10/3) and Robert Morris (10/14). Son was recognized throughout the CCAC as one of the top overall players. Son finishes his career with 6 goals, 6 assists, and 18 points.
Brian Aldrich received Second Team All-CCAC, after being named Defensive Player of the Week three times this season. Aldrich started ninteen of the Saints twenty total games on the year. Aldrich recorded 101 saves on the year, finishing with a 5.32 saves per game average. Brian recorded 8 shutouts on the year, but most importantly helped the Saints prevail in their shootout win over Olivet Nazarene in the CCAC playoffs. Aldrich finished the season with 11-7-1 record.
