Saints Compete at National Catholic

(Notre Dame, IN) The men's and women's cross country teams did not have to travel far to compete in the National Catholic Invitational. Just a quick jog across the street from the Holy Cross campus the Saints ran their 8k and 5k races at the 9-hole Notre Dame golf course.
Catholic universities and colleges from all over the United States ranging from NCAA division 1 to the NAIA competed for top honors. The top finisher for the Saints was freshman William Sellers (Grafton, OH) with an official time of 32:11.9. Justin Creswell (South Bend, IN) finished strong with a time of 33:07.2. Also running for the Saints were Mitch MacLeod, Joe Querciagrossa, Kevin Baldwin, and Andrew Ebright. Matt Graham of Depaul University was the overall men's winner with a time of 24:53.9.
Running for the women's team were freshman Liza Terrill (North Manchester, IN) with an overall time of 24:09.9, and Nicole Helfrick (Sacramento, CA) with a final time of 28:08.8.
Notre Dame claimed both team victories in the event. The Saints will travel next to Loyola University to compete in the Sean Earl Invitational.
