Saints Dominate at CCSJ

Whiting, Ind.  The Holy Cross women's basketball team returned to conference play this afternoon when they traveled to Calumet College of St. Joseph. A slow start offensively for the Saints found them down 8-6 with just under five minutes left in the first quarter. Holy Cross would end the first quarter on a 9-0 run and take a 15-8 lead heading into the second 10 minutes of action. The Saints would build on their lead in the second quarter as they would enter halftime up 39-20. Midway through the 3rd the Wave would cut into the Saints' lead 44-30, but Holy Cross would hold them to scoring just five more points in the 3rd to regain a 24 point lead entering the final 10 minutes of action. In the fourth quarter, Holy Cross would continue to extend their lead and would cruise to a 73-42 victory. With the win, Holy Cross improves to 6-6 and 3-2 while CCSJ falls to 1-10 and 0-5.
