CCAC Releases Postseason Awards

Chicago, Ill. The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletics Athletic Conference recently announced their women's basketball 2023-2024 awards. Holy Cross College women's basketball players Grace Adams, Lauren Morris, Jordyn Smith, and Lilly Toppen received All-Conference distinction.

Grace Adams, from Elkhart, Indiana, was awarded the CCAC First Team All-Conference. She returns to All-Conference honors, having been named Second Team All-Conference last season and All-Freshman Team two years ago. The 5'11 forward led the Saints in scoring at 18.6 points per game, while shooting 53.1% from the field. The junior also paced Holy Cross with 10.1 rebounds per game. Adams recorded 15 double-doubles this past season. Her best statistical game came in the CCAC Conference Quarterfinals win over St. Xavier University where she posted 31 points on 13/19 shooting from the field, to go along with 16 rebounds.

Jordyn Smith earned her third consecutive all-conference award honors, having been awarded CCAC Freshman of the Year in the 2021-2022 season and Honorable Mention All-Conference last season. The Granger, Indiana native was named CCAC Honorable Mention All-Conference for the 2023-2024 season. She was third on the team in scoring at 11.3 points per game. The 5'6 points guard also added 4.3 assists per game, which was a team best. Her best game was against Roosevelt University where she recorded 27 points, five rebounds, and six assists.

Lauren Morris, from Fishers, Indiana, earned CCAC Honorable Mention All-Conference. The 5'4 senior averaged 10.8 points per game while shooting 36.8% from beyond the arc. Her best statistical game came against Indiana University Northwest where she posted 19 points, seven rebounds, and four steals.

Lilly Toppen was named to the CCAC All-Freshman Team. Originally from DeMotte, Indiana, the 5'9 guard averaged 6.6 points per game while connecting on 33.8% of her threes. Her best game came against IU Northwest where she had 17 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Behind Adams, Morris, Smith, and Toppen, the women's basketball team finished the regular season with a 16-14 overall record, while going 12-8 in conference play. The Saints earned the No. 6 seen in the CCAC Postseason Tournament and advanced to the semifinals before falling to Olivet Nazarene University. The Saints will return 12 players for the 2024-2025 season.
