Caldwell Makes History as Saints Roll to Second-Highest Scoring Game in Program History
The Holy Cross College Saints delivered a commanding performance on Saturday afternoon, cruising to a 110–42 victory over East-West at McKenna Arena. The offensive outburst marked the second-highest scoring game in program history, as the Saints controlled the contest from start to finish.
Leading the way was Allie Caldwell, who etched her name into the program record books. Caldwell poured in 34 points on an ultra-efficient 13-of-16 shooting, including 4-of-6 from beyond the arc, making her performance the fourth-highest single-game scoring total in Holy Cross women's basketball history. She also added 14 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5 steals, delivering a complete, standout performance on both ends of the floor.
Holy Cross set the tone early, jumping out to a 28–11 lead after the first quarter and never looking back. The Saints continued to apply pressure throughout the second quarter, heading into halftime with a 53–29 advantage. A dominant third quarter, where Holy Cross shot over 68 percent from the field, effectively put the game out of reach.
The Saints finished the afternoon shooting 55 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from three, while forcing 20 turnovers and converting them into 27 points. Holy Cross also dominated the glass, out-rebounding East-West 59–27, and tallied 25 second-chance points.
Several Saints contributed to the balanced offensive attack. Lilly Toppen knocked down 4 three-pointers on her way to 16 points, while Kaiden Hanley added 17 points and 9 rebounds. Sincere Coleman-Francis chipped in 10 points, and the Holy Cross bench combined for an impressive 33 points.
Defensively, the Saints held East-West to just 24.1 percent shooting for the game, limiting the visitors to single-digit scoring in both the third and fourth quarters.
Holy Cross looks to continue to build momentum as play resumes after the holidays on December 30th at home against Goshen! Tipoff is at 2pm!
