Holy Cross Women’s Golf Earns 3rd-Place Finish at CCAC Championship, Highest in Five Years

The Holy Cross College women's golf team delivered an impressive performance at the CCAC Conference Tournament, held at University Park Golf Course and hosted by Governors State. Among the seven-team field, the Saints secured a 3rd-place finish: their highest conference showing in five years!

Sophomore Bianca Huizar led the way for Holy Cross, earning a top-five individual finish by tying for 4th place with rounds of 79 and 87. Fellow sophomore Jill Daniels also made her mark, tying for 8th place individually.

The tournament conditions featured classic Midwest spring weather, with wet and muddy terrain, persistent high winds, and even a brief lightning delay during the opening round. While day two brought some relief with sunshine and warmer temperatures, the damp course conditions remained a factor. Despite their resilience, the Saints held steady, finishing 3rd after both rounds.
Olivet Nazarene ultimately claimed the team title with an impressive two-day total of 667.

With all five players expected to return next season, the future looks bright for Holy Cross women's golf. Head Coach Abby Clark expressed excitement about the team's trajectory and continuity:
"I'm really excited that this team is young and everyone is coming back this fall. If they bring the same energy and commitment they showed this past winter, we're setting ourselves up for a really competitive fall 2026 season!"

Go Saints!
