GOSHEN, Ind. — The Holy Cross College women's soccer team picked up a dominant 3–0 road victory over Goshen College on Wednesday evening. After a scoreless opening 70 minutes, the Saints broke the game wide open with three goals in less than 15 minutes to secure the win.
The breakthrough came in the 75th minute when Abigail Fouts finished off a set piece from Miriam Iturriaga-Sanchez to give Holy Cross the lead. Just over a minute later, Erika Perez doubled the advantage with an unassisted strike. Perez wasn't done, as she added her second of the night in the 80th minute, again with Iturriaga-Sanchez providing the assist.
Holy Cross controlled the pace throughout the match, outshooting Goshen 25–5 and holding an 11–2 advantage in corner kicks. Goalkeeper Montserrat Alvarez earned the clean sheet, tallying two saves for the Saints.
With the win, the Saints improve to 1–3 on the season.
