ITA Releases Regional Awards
Tempe, Arizona. The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) recently announced their 2024 NAIA Men's and Women's Tennis Regional Awards. Multiple Holy Cross College tennis members received distinctions.
The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) is the governing body of college tennis, overseeing men's and women's varsity tennis at all levels – NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and Junior/Community College.
Women's Tennis East Region Award Winners
Maria Sanchez – ITA Rookie of the Year
Diane Maillotte – ITA Most Improved Player
Kia Carvalho-Landell – ITA Senior Player of the Year
Jessica Simeri – ITA Assistant Coach of the Year
Holy Cross College – ITA Community Service Award

Both the men's and women's tennis teams earned bids to the 2024 NAIA National Championships. The 21st seeded men's tennis team will take on 12th seeded Cumberland University on Tuesday, May 14 at 9:00am. The 19th seeded women's tennis team plays 14th seeded Dillard University on Tuesday, May 14 at 1:00pm. The NAIA National Championships are held in Mobile, Alabama.
The Holy Cross College Saints compete in eight intercollegiate sports for men and women. Holy Cross has produced 205 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference All-Academic Team honors and 108 All-Conference members, and seven NAIA All-Americans. Founded in 1966, Holy Cross College is a Catholic, residential, coed, four-year institution of higher learning, offering an applied liberal arts curriculum.
