Saints Take Down Foresters 81-69 in Opener
Notre Dame, Ind. The Holy Cross women's basketball team kicked off their 2023-2024 season this afternoon when they hosted Huntington University in a non-conference matchup. The Saints jumped out to a 19-12 lead after the first quarter. A big offensive second quarter, by both teams, resulted in 38 combined points. Holy Cross would lead 36-33 entering halftime. Huntington was able to tie the game up 44-44 with just over five minutes remaining in the third quarter, but Holy Cross would go on a 12-8 run to end the fourth quarter. The Saints would lead 56-52 with 10 minutes to play. In the fourth quarter, Grace Adams would account for 13 points as the Saints would go 10/19 from the field and go on to defeat the Foresters 81-69. With the win, Holy Cross beings the season 1-0 while Huntington drops to 0-2.
