Atchison, Kansas. The Holy Cross women's basketball team traveled to Atchison, Kansas to compete in the Holiday Inn Express Classic. The Saints faced host-team Benedictine College this evening. Early in the first half both teams were exchanging baskets, before a a good layup by Kaylianna Hammel gave the Saints an early 7-5 lead. Benedictine would end the first quarter on a 26-10 run to lead the Saints 31-17 after 10 minutes of action. Holy Cross struggled shooting the ball in the second period, as they would trail 55-33 entering halftime. Holy Cross would find their way offensively in the third quarter but were still unable to slow down the Raven's offense, as they would trail 79-56 entering the final 10 minutes of play. The Saints were unable to overcome the deficit, in the final 10 minutes, and would fall 92-77. With the loss, Holy Cross stands at 1-1 while Benedictine improves to 1-1
