Saints Push Past Lakers 69-56
Chicago, Ill. The Holy Cross women's basketball team began Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference action this evening when they traveled to Roosevelt University. The Saints would jump out to an early 11-5 lead midway through the first quarter and would control an 18-13 lead after the first 10 minutes of action. A steal and layup by Lauren Morris, at the end of the second quarter, found the Saints up 34-29 at halftime. The Lakers battled back in the third quarter and took a 39-36 lead with just over five minutes remaining in the quarter. The Saints entered the final quarter down 47-43. Holy Cross would amp of their defensive efforts in the final quarter and outscore Roosevelt 26-9 in the last ten to come away with the 69-56 victory. With the win, Holy Cross moves to 4-3 and 1-0 while Roosevelt drops to 1-5 and 0-1.
