Saints Win and Advance

Chicago, Ill.  The Holy Cross women's basketball team squared off against St. Xavier University this evening in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Post Season Quarterfinals. The Saints came in as the sixth seed with SXU being the third seed. After the first ten minutes of action, Holy Cross controlled a slight 18-16 lead. The Cougars would outscore the Saints by three in the second quarter, as Holy Cross would trail 38-37 entering halftime. The Saints took a 62-58 lead heading into the final quarter. They would extend their lead in the final 10 minutes to come away with the 87-78 victory. With the win, Holy Cross moves to the season with a 16-13 overall record and 12-8 in league play while St. Xavier stands at 16-12 and 14-6.
