Saints Fall at Olivet Nazarene
The Holy Cross women's basketball team fell on the road Wednesday night to Olivet Nazarene University, 103-65, in their final regular-season conference road matchup.
The Saints move to 15-12 overall and 11-8 in conference play.
Olivet Nazarene came out strong in the opening quarter, building a 31-10 lead after one and extending the advantage to 63-23 at halftime. Holy Cross responded with an impressive third quarter, shooting 80% (8-for-10) from the field and matching the Tigers with 22 points in the period. The Saints continued to battle in the fourth, outscoring Olivet 20-18.
Kaiden Hanley led Holy Cross with 20 points and 5 rebounds. Sincere Coleman-Francis followed with 19 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Audrey Tallent contributed 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 blocks, while Allie Caldwell added 7 rebounds of her own.
Off the bench, Brock Bittermann scored 8 points and Laney Hawkins pulled down 5 rebounds.
Holy Cross finished the game shooting 43.1% from the floor and totaled 40 rebounds and 9 blocks. The Saints recorded 12 second-chance points and 14 points off turnovers.
The Saints will close out the regular season this Saturday, February 21, on the road at Viterbo University.
