Saints Soar on Senior Night with 7-0 Win Over Calumet

Notre Dame, Ind. – The Holy Cross College women's soccer team capped off senior night in dominant fashion, securing a 7-0 victory over Calumet College of St. Joseph on Tuesday evening. The Saints celebrated seniors Annabella Alfreda, Mia Garatoni, and Neyda Macias before kickoff, and the trio played key roles in the team's sixth conference win of the season.

It didn't take long for Holy Cross to strike, as Alfreda opened the scoring in the 5th minute off an assist from Quinn Pankiewicz. The Saints' attack continued to roll, with Frances Parks doubling the lead in the 16th minute and later adding her second goal in the 30th. Freshman Yuki Mita and senior Mia Garatoni added tallies of their own, with Mita finishing with two goals and an assist on the night.

Emma Vono rounded out the scoring in the 72nd minute to seal the 7-0 victory. In total, the Saints outshot Calumet 35–3 and recorded 10 corner kicks. Goalkeeper Montserrat Alvarez Torres faced only two shots on goal, earning the clean sheet in 90 minutes of play.

Senior leadership shone brightly in their final home regular-season match, as Alfreda, Garatoni, and Macias helped guide the Saints to one of their most complete performances of the year.

With the win, Holy Cross improves to 7-5-1 overall and 6-1-1 in conference play, remaining firmly in the hunt for postseason contention.

The Saints will be on the road next as they look to continue their momentum in conference action on October 18th against Indiana Northwest. Kickoff is set for 7pm.
